This exhibition is two shows in one: The Prison Art Project and Interrogating Dump Sites: An Exhibition of Photographs by Stephen Chalmers, respectively. Regarding the former exhibition, we will be hosting a curatorial workshop for SDSU students to interact with prison art materials. The workshop will take place February 15, from 2-5PM. If you are or know of any SDSU student who would be interested in participating, have them contact me. We still have a couple of spots left.
There is a panel discussion scheduled to coincide with the exhibitions' opening reception: March 20, 2PM at SDSU Library, Room LL108. Artist Stephen Chalmers and sociologist Laura Pacenco will join Paul Kaplan and I in a conversation about the project.
